Shell Tree

I think mini Christmas trees are so adorable , so I wanted to make one that would fit in with my little Coastal House. I purchased a Styrofoam cone shape in my local craft store and decided I wanted to use the smallest shells I could find to decorate it.

Supplies Needed:

  • Styrofoam Cone
  • Ribbons
  • Shells
  • Glue Gun
  • Glitter
  • Silver Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Bling

Step 1

Collect small shells from the beach and clean in a sink of soapy water. To get them really clean you could add a little bleach, but skip this if doing with children. Allow to air dry.

Step 2

Arrange shells on cone to see what layout you prefer and begin to glue on.

Step 3

Once dry, you are ready to paint the whole thing in a color you choose or you could use spray paint for a quicker result.

Step 4

Now you are ready for decorating your ‘tree’. I used pretty ribbons in teal colors and topped them off with some sparkly gems.

I’m going to make little presents to go under my tree for extra cuteness at Christmas 😉
